Seeking: Veterinary Assistant

Location: Northside Houston, TX
Pay: $16.50 per hour | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week | Rotating Weekends

Openwork is partnering with Harris County to hire compassionate and dependable Veterinary Assistants to support a busy veterinary and animal care facility. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about animal welfare and want to gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional veterinary environment.

What You'll Do:

Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and routine procedures.
Feed, clean, monitor, and care for animals.
Safely handle and restrain animals during exams and treatments.
Assist with administering medications and basic diagnostic procedures.
Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary treatment areas.
Document animal care, treatments, and observations.
Provide friendly customer service to pet owners and visitors.
Support daily clinic and shelter operations as needed.

What We're Looking For:

1+ year of veterinary, animal care, kennel, shelter, or related experience required.
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Compassion for animals and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
