Phlebotomist III - Floater

Job Title

Pay Range: $17.55hr - $22.55hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Must be able to step in and lead one or more staff members on site.
• Required to act as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees.
• Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities:

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
• Provide coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles.
• Ensure that daily activities of the Patient Service Center, Mobile, Long Term Care, or In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence and sensitivity to confidentiality.
• Direct daily activity in a doctor’s office, patient service center, house call environment, or long term care as business needs dictate.
• Provide effective onboarding services to new clients.
• Act as point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
• Work with customers who have a high complexity or volume practice requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills.
• Handle customer-facing tasks including verbal and written communications, problem solving, and collaboration with multiple functions such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
