Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA license for an acute care hospital, requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital with 356 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 14:00-02:30
• Every other weekend required, 6-8 shifts per contract
• May float to Pediatrics with support available if needed
• May also float to a sister facility within the same system
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; EDAP/ENPC and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and arterial line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Two supervisory references required covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
