Make an immediate impact as an onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist supporting schools in the Blaine, MN area for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract role calls for a dedicated professional—licensed BCBA, Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4), or School Social Worker—passionate about positive behavior interventions and supporting diverse student needs across 2-3 school sites.

Key Qualifications:

• Current BCBA certification or Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or 4 required for SpEd applicants—no Tier 1 or 2 sponsorship available)
• School Social Workers with appropriate credentials welcome
• Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing/implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
• Skilled in supporting staff and students through training and collaborative team problem-solving
• Ability to maintain composure and flexibility, especially during crisis situations
• Knowledge of state and federal requirements for individualized education plans (IEPs)
• RBTs are ineligible for this role

Role Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with another BIS and Special Education Administrator
• Consult, communicate, and facilitate teamwork with school staff to ensure comprehensive support for students
• Conduct functional behavior assessments; implement and monitor PBIS plans and data-driven interventions
• Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies as necessary (with occasional use of restrictive procedures required)
• Support and help develop IEPs in keeping with district and legislative guidelines
• Deliver staff training on behavioral strategies and recommendations
• Maintain the safety of students and a positive school environment
• Uphold district and school board policies, and perform additional related duties as assigned

This onsite opportunity runs during standard school hours (typically Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:10pm), with flexibility as needed to address shifting caseloads and multiple locations.
