Registration Specialist

The Registration Specialist supports revenue cycle operations by performing accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and payment collection while delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities:

• Register patients across all service types (outpatient, inpatient, emergency, observation).
• Verify and enter demographic and insurance information accurately in the EHR.
• Assign financial class and obtain required forms and signatures.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, deposits, and post payments accurately.
• Communicate with clinical departments to support patient care.
• Provide professional customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, regulatory, and facility standards.
• Support quality goals, month-end tasks, and internal controls.
• Assist with downtime procedures and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience in healthcare registration or business office preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Basic medical terminology and cash handling experience preferred.
• Proficient with computers, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel).
