Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students across school districts nationwide. Position Overview
As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to help students develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for academic participation and daily school activities. Your role will directly support students’ functional performance in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom engagement.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluate students to assess fine motor, sensory-motor, visual-motor, and functional school skills
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide direct occupational therapy services in individual and group settings
Collaborate with teachers, parents, special education staff, and other related service providers
Monitor progress toward IEP goals and adjust interventions as needed
Document evaluations, treatment notes, and progress reports in compliance with district and state requirements
Participate in IEP meetings, team conferences, and professional development activities
Support students’ access to the educational environment through adaptive strategies, tools, and accommodations

Qualifications

Master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (or eligibility to obtain)
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification
Previous school-based experience preferred, but not required
Knowledge of IDEA, IEPs, and special education processes
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
