Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

The job of Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced respiratory care for critically ill patients, supporting rapid assessment, treatment, and escalation as needed. In this role, you will deliver night shift coverage and float within scope to all required care areas.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients and evaluate respiratory status to determine appropriate therapy
• Administer advanced respiratory interventions for critical care populations
• Deliver and monitor ventilator and oxygen therapy in accordance with established protocols
• Perform arterial blood gas collection and interpretation support to guide treatment decisions
• Coordinate care by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including during high-acuity events
• Float to all areas of the facility as required, including labor and delivery, within scope of practice

Qualifications:

• Hold an active SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider) license in hand at start
• Maintain NBRC credentials as an RRT and provide proof of certification
• Possess BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and current NBRC (RRT) certification in hand at start
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of recent critical care experience as an RRT
• Provide evidence of readiness to complete facility compliance requirements promptly
• Willingly support cross-unit assignments within scope to meet patient care needs
