Burn Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator

About This Role The Burn Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator will focus on reducing injury burdens in diverse populations through evidence-informed programming. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about community engagement and injury prevention. Highlights Location: Syracuse, NY Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday: Days with occasional weekend day What You'll Do Prioritize injury prevention work based on trends from the burn registry and local epidemiological data. Build partnerships with community organizations to support injury prevention efforts. Raise the burn center's visibility through media outreach and community education. Foster collaborative relationships within the community for ongoing fire and burn prevention. Collaborate with public health agencies, schools, EMS providers, Fire and Police agencies, and healthcare professionals. Requirements Education: Associates degree in a health-related field with 4 years of health-related experience required; Bachelor's in a health-related field with 2 years of health-related experience required Experience: 4 years of health-related experience with an Associates degree or 2 years with a Bachelor's degree required; Experience coordinating events, teaching, supervising others, and evidence-based programming preferred Licenses & Certifications: NYS Licensed/Registered RN or NYS certified EMT or Paramedic required; CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment; Master's degree preferred About Upstate Medical University Upstate Medical University is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
