Operations And Facilities DirectorEvergreen School District seeks an Operations and Facilities Director to join one of the leading K-8 school districts in the state of Montana. Evergreen's mission is to enable students to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners by ensuring quality instruction in a nurturing environment. The Operations Director supports the District with a variety of duties. This position reports directly to the Superintendent.Preferred Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED with preference given for background in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineeringFive years experience in supervision and maintenancePossess or acquire Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - Class B with Passenger and School Bus EndorsementPossess First Aid and CPR certificationPossess or acquire Government Pesticide Applicator License (school Integrated Pest Management)Possess or acquire Low-Pressure Boiler Operator's License (within three years of employment)Possess or acquire training in asbestos awareness and maintenancePossess or acquire certification in lead based paint renovationExperience in grounds maintenanceReside within reasonable proximity to the districtJob Responsibilities:Establish and administer maintenance programsDevelop and oversee safety programsMonitor facilities to ensure compliance with Americans with Disabilities ActEnsure utilities procurementMonitor bus maintenance and oversee bus operationsWrite bid specifications and assist in the selection of contractorsWrite contracts for building projects and oversee contractor operationsOversee telecommunications and security camera systemsEstablish and implement a budgetCreate work schedulesCoordinate operations and repairsSupervise, train, and evaluate maintenance and custodial personnelOversee securityPrioritize, perform, and/or assign district maintenance and repairsOversee operation of the District boilersSecure and disseminate maintenance and custodial suppliesConduct maintenance and custodial staff meetingsDispose of obsolete property as per statutory requirementsAttend meetings as they pertain to custodial and maintenance staff or district operationsProvide regular report to TrusteesCommunicate regularly with the District superintendentProcure and maintain inventory of district-owned hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials, and suppliesInspect and maintain fire alarm systems and fire extinguishersAssist in the planning and construction of school facilitiesConduct duties in a safe manner and emphasize safety to subordinatesSchedule and conduct asbestos inspectionsEnsure and document proper procedures for repair and renovation activities when asbestos or lead based paint is presentRespond to security alarms and other emergencies as needed outside of work hours in a timely mannerEstablish safety, preventative, and upgrade facilities and maintenance planBe responsible for snow removal and snow removal contractingKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to work with othersAbility to analyze costs and chart budgetsAbility to plan and schedule cleaning, maintenance, and repairsAbility to manage, supervise, train, and evaluate personnelAbility to lift and move heavy equipmentAbility to operate tools and equipment used in custodial, building, maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical workAbility to operate snow removal equipmentAbility to organize and manage supplies and materialsAbility to interpret and disseminate information, direct meetings and organize and maintain equipmentAbility to supervise construction projects and work with contractorsAbility to be self-directed in handling responsibilitiesAbility to prioritize tasks and analyze and solve problems in a timely mannerAbility to handle emergencies in a calm and efficient mannerAbility to give oral presentations in public settingsPhysical Demands:Works inside and outside the school building in both a controlled environment as well as occasionally in inclement weatherWorks with corrosive, toxic chemicals and soaps that give off fumesEvaluation:Performance to be evaluated annually by the SuperintendentTerms of Employment:Hourly, 261 day contract year, Remuneration contingent upon preparation and experience Health insurance, leave, and retirement provided On call 24 hours 7 days a week Work schedule/hours can be modified as determined by supervisor
