The Histotechnologist prepares tissue and fluid specimens for analysis by treating them with chemicals and mounting on slides. Collect, log, and process specimens, ensuring proper identification and paperwork. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workstation and follow protocols for specimen handling. Maintain and prepare equipment for tissue processing and slide preparation. Set up equipment for lab procedures and perform maintenance and quality control checks. The Histotechnologist manages inventory of reagents and materials. Assist in morgue room maintenance and chemical disposal. The Histotechnologist provides technical assistance and training to lab personnel.

Histotechnologist - Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience, preferably in histology.
• Bachelor's degree for Histotechnologists (HTL). Certification from an accredited Histotechnology Program.
• Must have ASCP HTL certification.
