Entry Level Civil Engineer

Your Impact As a Water Engineer with Jacobs, you will work alongside Project Management and Design Leads in the planning, designing, and commissioning of projects from planning and/or design through construction or finalization. Working within a multi‑disciplinary team you will be challenged to grow and learn in your everyday tasks, which, depending on your focus/specialty, could consist of the following: Hydraulic modeling Water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects Water treatment, collection and distribution projects Groundwater investigations, drilling, and well installation Assisting in the preparation of plans and specifications Performing research, technical writing, development of documentation and studies Data collection, processing, and analysis to support planning and design activities Supporting construction activities related to your designs to ensure proper construction Providing on‑site troubleshooting based on field conditions, including construction observation, startup and testing, and project closeout activities What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university program Interest in and understanding of water‑related projects Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely Self‑motivated, self‑teaching, and an initiator Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire Ideal Additional Qualifications Experience with software such as Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, AutoCAD (Civil 3D), or MicroStation Experience with water‑related software programs Desire to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure within the next five years Benefits Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you and the things you care about. Salary The base salary range for this position is $67,725.00 to $99,880.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
