Position Overview

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer with strong backend development expertise and some leadership experience to join Best Buy's merchandising technology team. This role supports the Vendor Funds function, which is an important component of the company's financial systems.

The position is primarily backend-focused , with opportunities to contribute to frontend development. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an Agile environment, values code simplicity and quality, and is willing to collaborate closely with other engineers through practices such as pair programming and test-driven development.

Required

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in a JVM-based programming language , such as Java or Groovy.
• Strong experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) .
• Strong willingness and ability to pair program .
• Full-stack development experience with a strong backend focus.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments .
• Some prior technical leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Service development using REST, and JSON .
• Spring Framework experience.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle .
• Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Linux/Bash proficiency.
• Experience with open-source technologies such as Apache and Tomcat .
• React or other JavaScript single-page application frameworks.
• Google BigQuery experience.
