IT Business Analyst III

IT Business Analyst - Compliance / GRC / RegTech

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support a major Compliance technology initiative within a global financial services organization. This role will serve as a key liaison between Compliance, IT, Head Office teams, and an external technology vendor as the organization implements a regulatory technology solution.

The project will focus on improving the management of Laws, Rules and Regulations (LRR), regulatory inventory, regulatory obligations, and compliance risk management processes .

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis and software implementation , along with familiarity with GRC, regulatory compliance, risk management, or RegTech . This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable gathering requirements, mapping processes, coordinating with technical teams and vendors, supporting testing, and managing project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

• Partner with Compliance and IT stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
• Perform gap analysis between vendor capabilities and business requirements.
• Document functional requirements, business processes, decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and open issues.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements for technical teams and vendors.
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline existing compliance processes.

RegTech / SaaS Implementation

• Support implementation of a new regulatory technology / SaaS solution .
• Coordinate with internal IT teams and external vendors throughout configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live activities.
• Assist with defining and validating user roles, access requirements, workflow steps, and approval paths .
• Support data integration activities, including data mapping, connectivity, validation, and coordination of business requirements.
• Track vendor deliverables, project dependencies, issues, and action items.

Compliance & GRC

• Support technology initiatives involving regulatory inventory, regulatory obligations, Laws/Rules/Regulations (LRR), GRC, and compliance risk management .
• Work closely with Compliance stakeholders to understand regulatory processes and translate them into technology requirements.
• Support documentation and reviews required for internal IT governance, security, architecture, AI, and other approval processes.
• Assist with third-party technology due diligence and related documentation.

UAT & Testing

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution.
• Develop test cases, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate UAT participation with business stakeholders.
• Track defects and issues and coordinate retesting and validation of fixes.
• Support testing of integrations, workflows, user access, and data.

Process Improvement & Change Management

• Document current-state ( As-Is ) and future-state ( To-Be ) processes.
• Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop user documentation, training materials, and process guides.
• Assist with user training and post-go-live support.

Stakeholder & Project Coordination

• Serve as a liaison between Compliance, local IT, Head Office IT, project leadership, and external vendors.
• Support the Project Manager with timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and follow-up activities.
• Coordinate information required for internal governance and approval committees.
• Help ensure project stakeholders remain aligned throughout implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar technical role.
• Experience supporting software or SaaS implementation projects .
• Strong experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and technical requirements .
• Experience with UAT, test case development, defect tracking, and validation .
• Experience documenting and improving business processes using As-Is / To-Be process mapping .
• Understanding of software development and implementation lifecycles.
• Familiarity with data integration, data mapping, APIs, user access, and role-based workflows .
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience working in a regulated environment with formal governance, approval, and documentation requirements.
• Understanding of common AI terminology and AI-related processes .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GRC, regulatory compliance, compliance risk management, or regulatory technology (RegTech) .
• Familiarity with regulatory inventory and regulatory obligation management .
• Experience working with Laws, Rules and Regulations (LRR) or similar regulatory content/processes.
• Experience supporting implementation of GRC or RegTech platforms , such as Archer.
• Experience with third-party risk management or IT due diligence .
• Experience supporting API specifications or API/integration projects .
• Financial services or banking experience.
• Experience working with distributed teams or global stakeholders.
• French language skills are a plus.

We're looking for a Business Analyst who can operate comfortably at the intersection of business, technology, and compliance . You should be able to understand a business problem, translate it into clear technology requirements, coordinate with vendors and technical teams, and help drive the solution through implementation and testing.

Experience with GRC, regulatory inventory, obligation management, compliance risk management, or RegTech is particularly valuable.
