Job#: 3043447 Job Description: Network Engineer - PAC Location: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (On-site) Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance as a condition and continuation of employment. Role Overview We are seeking candidates for multiple Network Engineer openings at various experience levels. This position supports a key government customer, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), by providing capabilities and services in a 24x7 Global Operations Center. The role involves supporting the global information grid, which is essential for national security organizations. This is a 9-month opportunity. Key Responsibilities Execute network operations, including configuration and analysis of customer circuits across optical and electro-optical multiplexers, routers, and switches. Perform real-time circuit redesign to restore connectivity during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions. Collaborate with internal teams, external customers, and government agencies to ensure maximum network availability. Proactively monitor network alarms using platform-specific network management tools. Perform a variety of change management tasks, including hardware replacement and software configurations. Utilize incident management applications like JIRA to document all aspects of reported outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions. Assess, identify, and recommend resolutions for various network incidents leveraging knowledge in one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, optical transport network, MPLS, time division multiplexing, and SDH/SONET. Required Qualifications Experience: Level 1: 4+ years of applicable experience, OR an Associate’s degree and 2+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree. Level 2: 6+ years of applicable experience, OR an Associate’s degree and 4+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience. Level 3: 8+ years of applicable experience, OR an Associate’s degree and 6+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience. Skills & Certifications: Must hold a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) prior to starting. Ability to work in a 24x7 shift work environment, including day, swing, and mid shifts. Working knowledge of Transport and IP network topologies. Experience with network troubleshooting in a professional or military environment. Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing systems such as SolarWinds and JIRA. Preferred Qualifications Tech control facility or cyber transport experience. Experience with circuit actions and vendors. IP/Transport architecture experience. Experience in a telecommunications Network Operations Center (NOC). Proficiency with the MS Office suite. Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, or change management.
