Technical Writer

Technical Writer Responsible for developing and editing documentation that includes online help, User Guides, Installation Instructions, Quick Reference Cards, Release Notes, and other materials as needed. Responsibilities also include writing and modifying existing documentation, while following established standards and accepted technical writing standards and principals. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and (preferably) at least 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

• Excellent writing skills, including the ability to research, design, and write new documentation, as well as to maintain and improve existing material
• Ability to write end-user (GUI) documentation and online Help with a strong workflow-based content
• Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and Client ClearSight clients

Software: Client is heavy users of MadCap Flare, though if a potential candidate has experience working with RoboHelp or FileMaker, the transition into Flare seems to be relatively easy. Good To Have: SnagIt, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Atlassian Confluence, JIRA Agile, Salesforce, Client DocuShare, SnagIt, Techsmith Camtasia ClifyX
