Academic Endocrinologist

Crystal Run Healthcare, part of Optum, is seeking a full-time Endocrinologist to join their expanding team in the New York suburbs of Middletown, NY. This patient-centric role offers the opportunity to practice in a well-established, state-of-the-art department, supported by a robust team and extensive resources. The position emphasizes physician-led, patient-centered care within a large, collegial multispecialty group. Practice Info Fellowship-trained, physician-led, patient centered team-based care environment Stability of an established, reputable practice within a collegial multispecialty group with an exceptionally large referral base of over 400 local providers spanning over 70 medical and surgical specialties and sub-specialties Direct support staff and teams to assist with patient care and workflow, including Nutritionist & Certified Diabetes Educator support Autonomy and independence in practice, including a strong affiliation with local tertiary care hospital(s) that provides a full range of medical and procedural Endocrinology care services Patient census is adult focused (ages 18+) New grads are welcome to apply Responsibilities Investigate, diagnose, and treat full range of endocrine system disorders, which encompasses everything from diabetes to hyperthyroidism to osteoporosis Provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art diabetes care using a team-based approach to care Provide on-site screening for osteoporosis Provide comprehensive services for the diagnosis and treatment of all thyroid disorders, including Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Thyroid nodules, and Thyroid cancer Consult with patients about the status of their endocrine health, while providing them with the latest advancements in care Start days in state-of-the-art, multi-specialty outpatient offices and finish days rounding at the local hospital Refer patients to advanced specialists as needed Examine & diagnose patients, oversight of all treatment prior to and post-surgery and identify associated risks Compensation ~$30,000 Sign-On Bonus ~ Guaranteed, competitive compensation model based on quality, with significant earning potential, annual increases, and bonus eligibility ~ Potential for buy-in with local ASC's ~ The salary range for this role is $208,000 to $352,000 annually based on full-time employment ~ Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target ~ The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement ~ UnitedHealth Group offers incentive and recognition programs ~ UnitedHealth Group offers equity stock purchase and 401k contribution Benefits Robust retirement offerings including employer funded contributions Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP for UHG Stock) Physician partnership opportunities and incentives Generous PTO packages Comprehensive benefits plan inclusive of medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, CME and malpractice coverage Robust clinician learning and development programs Shift & Schedule Desirable Monday - Friday schedules during normal business hours that promote work-life balance Manageable and equitably shared rotating on-call support and local inpatient rounding (i.e., 1:6 to 1:7-week rotations) Requirements Completion of (or in process of completing) accredited relevant fellowship training program(s) BC in Endocrinology and any additional relevant Endocrine sub-specialties (if relevant) Unrestricted New York State Medical License (or ability to obtain) Current New York State DEA certificate (or ability to obtain) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Proficiency / comfort with thyroid biopsies (preferred)
