RN - Behavioral Health Nurse | PT Nights

Join a compassionate healthcare team delivering professional nursing care focused on behavioral health during part-time night shifts. This role involves providing patient-centered care under physician guidance, mentoring new staff and students, and performing nursing duties within the scope defined by licensing boards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patient needs, maintaining comprehensive care plans.
• Promote patient independence by setting care goals and involving patients and families in discussions about medical issues, testing, medications, and self-care.
• Administer and manage medications accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of care, including disease processes and symptom management.
• Document care activities promptly and accurately following organizational policies.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licenses & Certifications: Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state required. BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire or by orientation end. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policy.

Experience: Previous experience in a similar behavioral health environment is preferred.

Skills & Abilities: Strong nursing principles application, effective communication, computer literacy, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

Physical Requirements: May involve occasional heavy lifting up to 100 lbs and frequent standing or walking for 51-75% of the shift. Accommodations available as needed.
