Overview Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) — Amsterdam, NY. Travel assignment begins 06/01/2026 for 13 weeks in a Short Term Acute Care setting. Weekly pay range: $2,129–$2,253 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: 7:00 am–3:30 pm. This role supports perioperative teams as a circulating nurse in a dynamic OR environment. Note: prior staff members are not eligible as travelers; local travelers within 50 miles may be accepted with a bill rate adjustment. The facility reserves the right to cancel up to five shifts at no cost during the assignment. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,129–$2,253 per week Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 am–3:30 pm Start date: 06/01/2026 Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital (travel assignment) Guaranteed hours: 0.0 On-call requirements: 1–2 on-call shifts during Mon–Thu; every 4th–5th weekend; weekend call 3:30 pm Friday to 7:00 am Monday; must be within 15 minutes of the facility when on call Responsibilities Serve as the circulating nurse in the operating room, maintaining a sterile field and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures. Prepare the OR, ensure instrument and equipment readiness, and manage intraoperative counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) for patient safety. Assist surgeons, anesthesia providers, and scrub staff; anticipate needs and respond to intraoperative changes or emergencies. Document perioperative care and ensure accurate patient records, positioning, and specimen handling as required. Adhere to infection control principles, safety protocols, and hospital policies; communicate effectively with team members and patients.
