Clinical Research Coordinator

We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our Fountain Valley team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced research professional who is passionate about oncology, patient care, and advancing cancer treatment through clinical research. What You’ll Do As a Clinical Research Coordinator, you will independently coordinate clinical research studies while working closely with physicians, patients, sponsors, and research teams. You will play an important role in ensuring studies are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include: Screen and identify potential patients for clinical trial eligibility. Present non-medical clinical trial concepts and study details to patients and participate in the informed consent process. Coordinate and schedule research visits, procedures, and study-related activities. Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to document patient conditions, adverse events, concomitant medications, protocol compliance, and response to study treatment. Maintain accurate and complete source documentation and study records. Collect, document, enter, and report clinical research data accurately and within required timelines. Respond to sponsor queries and support study monitoring and auditing activities. Track and report study activity, patient accrual, workload, and other research metrics. Identify opportunities to improve patient enrollment, study efficiency, and overall research processes. Work with regulatory personnel and/or the Institutional Review Board (IRB) regarding adverse events, serious adverse events, protocol deviations, safety letters, and other required submissions. Assist with patient research billing and reconciliation, as needed. Maintain compliance with FDA, IRB, HIPAA, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and other applicable federal and local requirements. Participate in research team meetings, required training, audits, SOP development, and quality improvement initiatives. Help identify new clinical research opportunities and present opportunities to investigators. Provide training and education to research and clinical staff, as needed. Travel to satellite clinics when necessary. What We’re Looking For Required: ACRP, SOCRA, or equivalent clinical research certification. Previous oncology/hematology clinical research experience. Knowledge of oncology/hematology terminology and clinical research practices. Minimum of 1 year of clinical research coordination experience. Strong knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with professionalism and confidentiality. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate calmly and professionally with patients, families, and colleagues. Additional Requirements: Ability to travel to satellite clinics as needed. Must be willing and able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable laws.
