Experienced Clinical Nurse - Lymphoma

Job Summary The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. Collaborates with physicians, other services, patients and patient’s family to plan care and evaluate outcomes. Improves practice by integrating results and theories of research studies. Participates in data collection for current studies. Demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies. Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from computer systems. Assures continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services. Acts as a patient and family advocate in order to uphold patient rights. Trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas (RN). Minimum twelve months of recent RN experience in a medical/surgical or acute care setting. Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing and/or at least one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting. Certification in oncology or other nursing specialty; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as required. Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Schedule Day/Evening shift (7am - 7pm) or Evening/Night shift (7pm-7am) with rotating weekends and holidays required. Compensation Hourly rate: Minimum $32.70 – Midpoint $50.00 – Maximum $67.30. Annual salary: Minimum $68,000 – Midpoint $105,200 – Maximum $142,500.
