We’ll look to you to play significant roles in client engagement teams in the financial modeling area of our practice, in a wide variety of projects including:Model development and optimizationModel validations and efficiency assessmentsActuarial transformationMergers and AcquisitionsFinancial and regulatory reportingYou’ll support key actuarial modeling practice priorities, focusing on driving innovation, expanding business opportunities, and enhancing market outreach. You’ll collaborate with other practice leaders, both actuarial and non-actuarial, for go-to-market and development of cross-service offerings.Skills and attributes for successConsistently deliver quality client services and high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members in real time.Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge, with the ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge.Possess good business acumen and remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.Understand and communicate complex actuarial issues, stay informed of and apply professional standards and firm policies (e.g., Actuarial Standards of Practice).Develop a strong personal brand and enhance the EY brand by writing articles, participating in industry groups and speaking at seminars.To qualify for the role, you must haveA Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or another related majorApproximately 8+ years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years of people and/or project managementFellowship in the Society of ActuariesStrong knowledge of at least one prominent actuarial modeling software platform including but not limited to: Moodys GGY AXIS, FIS Prophet, Milliman ALFA/Integrate, Aon Benfield PathWise, Slope, PolySystems, among othersStrong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, project management, and interpersonal skillsA proven ability to manage time while working on multiple, often shifting, projects, and the confidence to work both collaboratively and independently under pressureWillingness and ability to travel to meet client needsIdeally, you’ll also havePrior experience with key platform library coding modules specific to actuarial modeling platforms worked with previously (asset, liability, economic-related modules) Solution design expertise, with the ability to effectively translate business requirements into modeling solutionsProficient in model staging and development skill sets, including coding, data transformation and prep, batch creation and automation, assumption management, and extraction / manipulation of model output Proficient in model development lifecycle processes and activities, including model change management, unit and user acceptance testing proceduresKnowledge of US Life, Health and Annuity products, including prominent features, product dynamics, and key modeling considerations. Associated regulations including STAT/GAAP reporting with considerations of emerging frameworks (such as VM-22) are also encouraged. Experience with asset modeling and ALM-related concepts, including asset model staging, processing data from externally projected asset sources, asset/liability interaction modeling, reinvestment modeling, and management of run time/fidelity trade-offsExperience with open-source coding paradigms such as Python, R, Julia, othersExperience with leading and overseeing actuarial modeling projects, including model development, validation, and optimizationWhat we look forWe’re most interested in intellectually curious actuaries with a clear passion for actuarial work. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $171,000 to $390,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $205,100 to $443,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
