The Substitute Teacher supports the school by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and executing lesson plans to maintain the overall care and quality of education in the teacher's absence. S/he must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic role model who is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith. Responsibilities Implementing the daily program and lesson plans left by the permanent teacher. Treating each child with dignity and respect. Recognizing and considering the individual needs of each child. Helping children to learn and think creatively to solve problems. Supervising the classroom and managing student behavior effectively. Fulfilling the role of the teacher in his/her absence. Maintaining a clean, organized, and respectful classroom environment. Professional Qualifications/Experience Required High energy. Ability to work well with others. Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. An understanding of child development.
