This all starts with our greatest asset…our employees.As the Mechanical Engineer for Yancey Engineered Solutions, you will operate computer-aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment to generate prints for use in production and manufacturing associated with the packaging facilities requirements.Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:Design fabricated mechanical parts and system assemblies using CAD software3D modeling, create layout views, create full parametric part and assembly drawings, and create DXF files for manufactureCreate complete bill of materials for project requiring fabricationCreate 2D wiring diagrams and schematic drawings and sketchesUse CAM software to generate machine code for CNC machine operatorsVerify dimensions of sourced partsPerform simulations of 3D models under customer specified stressesQuality control in respect of initial inspection of fabrication parts and pre-shipping of finished productsAdhere to company policies and proceduresProduct development tasks as assigned by companyKnow YES's Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and be able to fully discuss their importance and how they impact work.Additional duties as assigned by manager.Education/Experience:The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.Professional experience with SolidWorks 3D Software.Experience with AutoCAD.Required Qualifications/Skills:Ability to work within a fast-paced, team driven environmentAbility to work with highly-customized productsAbility to handle pressured situations with professionalism and calm and work without supervisionAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawingsAbility to read tape measureAbility to communicate plans, goals and information effectively to the workforceGood mathematical skillsExperience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and OutlookExperience with sheet metal designKnowledge of SolidWorks SimulationsKnowledge of electrical and mechanical equipmentKnowledge of metal shop tooling, basic welds and steel workA valid Class C Driver License requiredEnvironmental Job Requirements:Willing to work in extreme weather conditions and around loud noises.Environment may include vibrations, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, working on platforms or equipment over 4 feet from the ground.Physical:Will require appropriate Personal Protection Equipment to be worn.Travel:Typically requires travel 10% of the time.Who We Are Looking For:To be successful in this position you should be process oriented, show attention to detail, and have a sense of urgency.
