Work Environment

The Physical Therapist position is based onsite, primarily within client homes, where you will provide direct patient care. This setting allows for a personalized approach to therapy, enabling therapists to assess and evaluate home environments and provide interventions tailored to each individual's living conditions. Our team operates Monday through Friday, creating a stable work-life balance while ensuring the highest standards of care are met in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring functional mobility in accordance with physician prescriptions.
  • Oversee and guide Physical Therapy Assistants in the execution of therapy plans, ensuring compliance with best practices and patient needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' functional capabilities using diagnostic tests and evaluation methods, tailoring rehabilitation strategies accordingly.
  • Analyze and assess home environments to recommend modifications that will enhance clients' independence and ease of mobility.
  • Provide hands-on therapeutic services, including the administration of manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise guidance, and pain management techniques such as traction and massage.
  • Participate actively in the interdisciplinary team approach by collaborating in case conferences and developing comprehensive care plans that prioritize client recovery.
  • Document patient care activities comprehensively, including evaluations, progress notes, and treatment modifications, maintaining accurate and accessible clinical records.
  • Educate clients and their families on the use of physical therapy devices, ensuring understanding of their care plans and promoting self-management techniques.
  • Maintain a quality assurance protocol by adhering to regulations set by federal, state, and governing agencies while ensuring timely submission of all documentation.
  • Continuously engage with clients and families, providing guidance, motivation, and support throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on adults and elderly clients who may require physical therapy due to rehabilitation needs stemming from surgeries, chronic illnesses, or disabilities. As a Physical Therapist, your interventions will be pivotal in supporting clients to regain functionality and independence, substantially affecting their quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
  • Current and valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
  • Certification in CPR and a strong commitment to maintaining clinical competence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage with diverse patient populations effectively.
  • A proactive approach, sound decision-making abilities, and a willingness to embrace patient-centered care principles.

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or home care setting.
  • Familiarity with home healthcare protocols and best practices is a plus.
  • Experience working within an interdisciplinary team setting.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers an attractive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
