We have an opening for a Lease Staff Accountant. This role can be based in the following cities:

• Omaha

Position Summary:

As a Staff Accountant, you'll play a vital role in our Firm's financial operations as part of the dynamic Enterprise Accounting team. What You Will Do:

• Record monthly rent expense and relief of ROU asset and liability accounts in accordance with ASC 842
• Enter monthly activity to Deltek Vantagepoint for payment of rent and building expenses for DLR Group offices
• Verify annual reconciliation of operating costs received from lessor
• Maintain and initiate new lease activity in lease accounting software
• Be a resource for internal and external stakeholders as questions arise related to leases
• Partner with the Firm's real estate and insurance brokers, along with internal leadership, on the details of new and terminating leases
• Apply understanding and give guidance related to the role of deposits, rent abatement and other lease transactions
• Participate as part of a team for daily deposit management for assigned accounts
• Record and research deposits by Project Accountants
• Assist with completion of general account reconciliations as needed
• Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller with general ledger input and schedules as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a role with multiple property leases and recording entries consistent with the requirements of ASC 842
• 5 -10 years of relevant accounting experience (AEC industry preferred)
• Ability to work cross-functionally within various operating systems.
