Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting Sustainable Beef's financial operations by guiding payable and reporting functions. Duties include reviewing financial data, financial planning and analysis, forecasting and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Calculate and record high volume cattle purchase payments
• Ensure compliance with producer agreements
• Maintain documentation of compliance with P&S
• Manage audit documentation and support audit compliance
• Manage cattle freight system and issue payments for cattle freight
• Manage producer communications and data reporting
• Reconcile reimbursements for cattle
• Manage and reconcile cattle bank account
• Audit Emydex/operational systems for accuracy
• Account for shackle agreements
• Report periodic slaughter and grading data to the USDA
• Report slaughter and grading data for Certified Angus Beef
• Calculate and pay checkoff and brand inspection invoices
• Report offal production and drop credit performance against market
• Manage fixed asset reporting and construction in progress
• Manage inventory reporting and valuation
• Perform month-end account reconciliations, enter closing transactions
• Perform other Accounting and Administrative tasks as necessary to maintain department efficiency
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Participate in all required training programs
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience, cattle industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in computer applications, especially Excel, Word and ERP systems (Business Central experience is a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict attention to detail.
• Ability to work well within a team and across multiple departments.
• Ability to work an 8:00 AM to 5:00 schedule daily, with extended hours as needed to ensure timely cattle payment.
• Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and follow-up skills to ensure task completion.
• Strong desire to set goals, meet deadlines, and efficiently manage tasks with attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
