This will be an important, centralized role which will drive global leadership and process improvements for the company’s leasing activities.The role is primarily focused on the general ledger duties and includes, but is not limited to, managing the CoStar lease accounting application and SAP S4 systems, journal entry review and approval, audit inquiries, and backup to other core accounting functions, as assigned. This position will have one direct report and will liaise with both accounting and facilities management personnel. This individual may be required to provide input to or participate in various projects and will perform other duties as requested.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the direction, management, accuracy and completeness of all lease accounting activities on the general ledgerAccount for the monthly lease accounting close processes and related reconciliations, reporting and trackingBuild strong relationships and work cross-functionally with other finance functions to ensure a smooth and timely monthly closeAdhere to system of controls and procedures to ensure the proper recording and maintenance of all lease administration activities on the general ledgerPrepare and provide recommendations on opportunities to improve processes and changes to company policies and procedures, as necessaryManage all lease transactions including recording, changing, or updating asset records in a timely manner and in accordance with GAAPWork with the retail and corporate real estate teams, as well as other project managers, to ensure lease activity is identified and placed in service on a timely basisInvestigate and participate in testing for the potential impairment of leasesManage the CoStar application and maintain lease accounting compliance with ASC 842 standardsReview, interpret, input, and analyze information on leases, amendments, and other legal documentsRespond to audit inquiries in a timely mannerOther duties as assignedSkills For SuccessAbility to handle multiple tasks in dynamic environmentAdvanced level of Excel skills, advanced PC skills and systems knowledgeStrong communication (oral and written)Excellent organizational skillsExcellent leadership and relationship building skills, able to build trust with stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work well independently and with othersIntegrityAbility to be flexible with extended work hours as necessary Positive attitudeExperience/Education10+ years accounting experienceCPA preferredBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or FinanceCoStar lease application experience preferredLeadership Competencies Expected for this Role:Evolving LeaderGlobal Agility – Leads diverse teams, adapts amidst ambiguityPurposeful Integrity – Leads with values, earns team’s trust, handles conflicts ethicallyStrategic Foresight – Connects teamwork to business strategyCustomer Centric Innovation – Leads improvements rooted in customer needsUrgency for Impact – Drive priorities forward with pace and purposeBold Accountability – Set high standards and model responsibilityEmpowered Collaboration – Builds inclusive teams, collaborates across functionsWhy Kontoor Brands?At Kontoor, we offer a comprehensive benefit package to fit your lifestyle.
