You’ll work at a steady, purposeful pace — following well-defined processes, managing details with care, and supporting clients through emotionally complex legal matters with professionalism and compassion. You won’t be guessing what good looks like. Our systems, training, and team will give you everything you need to succeed — and leadership is always accessible when you need guidance. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Communicate with clients and other parties to provide updates and gather information with empathy and clarity • Draft pleadings, including Complaints, Motions, Discovery Requests, Subpoenas, Orders, and Affidavits under attorney guidance • Review and organize financial documents; prepare spreadsheets and Financial Affidavits • Maintain client files with meticulous accuracy and attention to detail • Schedule hearings, mediations, depositions, and arbitrations • File pleadings with the Court and communicate with the Family Court as needed • Track, monitor, and calendar all court filings and deadlines • Interview witnesses and prepare summaries • Prepare trial and mediation materials alongside the legal team • Participate in all aspects of a family law case WHO YOU ARE Based on the characteristics we’ve found critical to success in this role, our ideal candidate is: • Meticulous and detail-oriented — you check your work, then check it again • Patient and conscientious — you take pride in polished, high-quality output • Collaborative and harmony-seeking — you want to be part of a team, not compete with one • Steady and process-driven — you follow established systems and rarely need to improvise • Compassionate and professional — you communicate with warmth and precision, especially with clients in distress • Responsive to direction — you take feedback well and use it to grow Qualifications: • NC State Bar Certified Paralegal — required • Bachelor’s Degree — required • Prior family law experience strongly preferred • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills • Strong legal research and writing abilities • Ability to handle sensitive client situations with empathy and discretion • In-person availability at our Cary, NC office — this is not a remote position FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE: • $60,000 – $100,000 yearly compensation • Three weeks of paid time off • Employer pays 100% of Health Insurance • Paid holidays • Employer contributions to HSA Plan • 401(k) Retirement Plan • Employer-paid Short & Long Term Disability • Flexible work schedule • Employer-paid Life Insurance • Casual dress code • Paid Maternity & Paternity Leave • Family & fur-baby friendly environment Plus: monthly 1-on-1s with firm leadership, ongoing in-house workshops, and lots of additional perks!
