Job Description - Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Cardiology Acute Care Step Down Unit (2600064A) Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Cardiology Acute Care Step Down Unit - (2600064A) About Lerner Tower 5 (Medical Cardiology Step Down Unit) Lerner Tower 5 is a Medical Cardiology unit that cares for high-risk cardiac conditions. We are a 30 bed unit and our employees pick each other up both personally and professionally each and every shift. Common diagnosis include: Fluid Volume Overload, Acute Myocardial Infarction, Atrial fibrillation, GI Bleed from anticoagulation, Acute on Chronic Heart Failure. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Position Requirements Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices). Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients. 1 year of RN experience required Education Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum of Diploma/Associate’s Degree in nursing from accredited program. License Requirements Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio. Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation #J-18808-Ljbffr University Hospitals
