High Voltage Competency Assessor & Trainer

Location: Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan or surrounding region

Travel: Extensive U.S. travel, primarily Monday-Friday working remotely in between training sessions

Employment: Full-Time + Benefits - Salary position with all travel paid

A major North American infrastructure and construction organization is looking for an experienced High Voltage Competency Assessor & Trainer to support projects throughout the United States.

This is a hands-on, field-based position for an experienced electrical professional who can evaluate worker competency, deliver practical training, and help ensure high-voltage work is performed safely and correctly. You'll travel directly to active projects and work with electricians, supervisors, and project teams in real-world construction environments.

What You'll Do

Conduct competency assessments for personnel performing high-voltage electrical work.
Deliver hands-on electrical safety and technical training.
Evaluate workers' knowledge, skills, and safe work practices.
Identify competency gaps and provide practical coaching.
Support training related to:
High-voltage electrical systems
Electrical safe work practices
NFPA 70E
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Energized equipment and electrical hazards
Switching, isolation, and verification
Work closely with field leadership, EHS teams, and electrical subject matter experts.
Maintain assessment, qualification, and training documentation.

What We're Looking For

Strong hands-on high-voltage electrical experience .
Background in construction, utilities, power, industrial, substations, or similar environments.
Experience training, mentoring, qualifying, or assessing electrical workers.
Strong understanding of electrical safety and safe work practices.
Ability to recognize unsafe practices and technical competency gaps.
Strong communication and coaching skills.
Willingness to travel extensively throughout the U.S., typically Monday-Friday.

Preferred: NFPA 70E, OSHA, electrical training/assessor credentials, or other relevant electrical safety certifications.
