Travel RN - ICUAmerican TravelerChicago, Illinois, United StatesPosition ID: P-741349Position status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 2Start date: 2026-08-31T00:00:00.000Z$1,737.55/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring active IL RN licensure and comprehensive stroke and critical care experience.Details30-bed ICU encompassing MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU within a comprehensive stroke centerNight shift schedule from 19:00-07:3013-week assignment lengthWorks every other weekend and every other holidayWeekend sick call requires working the following weekend (Friday 7p-Monday 7am)Floating expected if ICU census is lowEPIC EMR experience requiredRequirementsActive IL RN license requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredRequired knowledge in CRRT, CABG, stroke, and TNK administrationExperience assisting with bedside procedures including intubation/extubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, TEEs, and cardioversionsExperience managing ventilators, BiPAP/AVAPS, and other oxygen delivery methodsExperience managing patients on multiple vasoactive medicationsExperience with GI surgical, stroke/neuro (craniectomy, hemicraniectomy, spinal surgeries), cath lab, and interventional radiology patientsExperience managing sepsis, GI bleed, COPD, CHF, and DKA patientsAbility to interpret invasive hemodynamic values (CO/CI/SVV/CVP/SvO2)Preferred: open heart surgery experience (CABG, valve surgeries, AAA)Preferred: comprehensive stroke experience (EVD, thrombectomy, TNK)Preferred: experience with assist devices (IABP, Impella, CRRT/Prisma)Preferred: experience with prone positioning and paralytic management (TOF/BIS monitoring)DCI/BVP Workplace Violence Prevention certification requiredDOB and SSN required for considerationAdditional InformationProvide critical care nursing across MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU patient populationsWork within a comprehensive stroke center settingNo RTO permitted during holidaysLocal candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidatesHours per week: 36Hours per shift: 12
