Admission Access Clerk - Patient Services Join a dedicated team performing essential functions to admit, pre-admit, update status, and transfer patients within a busy medical facility serving the Central Plains region. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and maintaining respectful relationships with all patients and staff. Essential Functions Collect all necessary demographic data, verify insurance eligibility, and obtain required signatures to admit or pre-admit patients while adhering to state and federal regulations, maintaining a high accuracy rate. Notify financial counselors regarding private pay or uncertain insurance coverage cases. Distribute admission paperwork promptly to relevant departments and personnel. Assist with patient transport as needed, serving individuals from newborns to the elderly. Comply with HIPAA privacy and security standards concerning all Protected Health Information (PHI). Collect co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles according to insurance contracts and eligibility programs. Process patient payments and complete daily deposit reconciliations. Minimum Knowledge and Skills Basic clerical, computer, and keyboarding skills. Effective communication abilities. Preferred Knowledge and Skills Familiarity with medical terminology.
