INVESTIGATION SPECIALIST II - 64085649

Responsibilities The investigator conducts priority and routine investigations, audits, and inspections related to violations of Florida Statutes and agency rules. Investigations include interviewing sources, subjects, and witnesses, reviewing court records, audits, inspections, serving subpoenas, complaints, notices, and issuing citations. The investigator prepares comprehensive investigative reports and may serve as field training officer. Investigate complaints of alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board Rules involving professions under the jurisdiction of the Department. Interview sources, subjects, and relevant witnesses. Review court records, conduct audits and inspections, serve subpoenas, administrative complaints, cease‑and‑desist notices, and issue citations. Prepare comprehensive chronological reports of final, supplemental, and probation investigations within the ISU quality control guidelines. Serve as field training officer when necessary. Conduct supplemental and probation investigations, coordinating with impairment program staff. Enforce terms of Disciplinary Enforcement Requests and cooperate with Board staff. Engage in proactive enforcement programs individually and in cooperation with other government agencies. Demonstrate good public relations with local authorities and professional organizations through personal contact and public speaking. Provide information to consumers regarding licensure and possible violations, and offer referral information. Testify or present evidence at administrative hearings, depositions, or trials. Perform other duties as required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, database use, and agency compliance management and licensing systems. Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, and government regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication, fact‑finding research, data collection and analysis, report writing, organization, prioritization, independent work, attention to detail, time management, confidentiality, and decision‑making. Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of investigative experience. Four (4) years of professional experience in investigative, law enforcement, juvenile or adult criminal justice, regulatory inspections, compliance, resource protection, affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, or related fields. Physical presence in the office to perform duties. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Professional experience may substitute for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license. Successful completion of a background investigation and fingerprinting. Participation in direct deposit. Location Tampa, FL. Legal and Policies The successful candidate will be required to complete the Form I‑9, and the information will be verified using the E‑Verify system. A security background check and drug screening are required, and misrepresentations may disqualify a candidate. Drug‑free workplace policies are enforced.
