Security Guard PositionThe Security Guard plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors within the school premises. This position involves monitoring campus activities, enforcing school policies, and responding to security incidents as needed. Reports To: Principal and Director of OperationsQualifications:High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)Valid Alabama driver's license and acceptable driving recordKnowledge of laws and regulations governing school safetyThree years of related experienceFingerprint clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education prior to the start dateEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct regular patrols of school grounds, including hallways, classrooms, parking lots, and outdoor areasMonitor security cameras and alarms to detect and respond to suspicious activities or unauthorized individualsMaintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized entry and ensure a safe environment for allGreet visitors, verify their identity, and issue visitor badges as necessaryMonitor access points and enforce visitor check-in procedures to control entry into the schoolEscort visitors to designated areas and assist with directions or inquiriesRespond promptly to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fights, or security threatsFollow established protocols for crisis management and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessaryProvide assistance and support during evacuation drills and actual emergency evacuationsEnforce school rules and regulations related to safety and securityAddress disruptive behavior or conduct by students or visitors in accordance with school policiesCollaborate with school administration and staff to maintain a positive and respectful learning environmentDocument security incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed incident reportsCommunicate security concerns or issues to appropriate school personnel and administrationMaintain accurate records of security-related activities and provide testimony as neededPerform other duties as assigned by administratorsRequired Skills and Competencies:Ability to follow both oral and written directions and instructions.
