Ophthalmic Technician

Job Description

Description

• Prepare patients for their eye examinations.

• Obtain patient medical histories and perform preliminary testing.

• Conduct diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields, retinal imaging, etc.).

• Assist the doctor during patient examinations as needed.

• Document findings accurately in the electronic medical record.

• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and equipment.

• Work collaboratively with front desk, optical, and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• Certified Paraoptometric (CPO/CPOA/CPOT) certification preferred and/or experience in a high-volume optometric or ophthalmology practice strongly.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Friendly, professional, and compassionate with patients.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

• Dependable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a busy environment.

• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

• Must be a team player who enjoys helping coworkers and contributing to a positive workplace
