Line Cook

Line Cook position at Silver Brands in National Harbor, MD. Position Overview Line Cook responsible for preparing Silver Diner menu items while complying with sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards per Silver Diner specifications. Responsibilities Ensure all menu items prepared and plated to spec. Follow cooking procedures and maintain station cleanliness. Stock ingredients and supplies ahead of need and as you go. Complete temperature checks prior to and after the rush. Maintain a clean and organized station; keep clean as you go. Adhere to all safety, sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. Store ingredients properly at all times and use FIFO (First In, First Out). Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to Kitchen Manager. Work as part of a team, communicating clearly and constructively. Brand Delivery Be on time for work. Maintain a positive, fun-oriented attitude. Keep yourself, your uniform, and your station sparkling clean at all times. Strictly follow all uniform standards. Knowledge of SMG scoring standards for quality, speed of service, and accuracy of order. Know the Silver Diner Food Brand statement. Cost Balancing Properly portion all menu items according to spec. Ensure all menu items are purchased; no menu item prepared without being entered into the POS. Track any waste. Other Duties & Tasks Perform any additional duties or tasks as reasonably assigned by managers. Performance Measures Ticket times of less than 15 to 20 minutes. Guest satisfaction with food quality and presentation. Timely re-cooks. Station cleanliness and organization. Required Education Values on-the-job learning and formal education; on-the-job experience is emphasized. Required Experience Minimum 1–2 years experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry. Physical Requirements The work area includes food, refrigeration, knives, toasters, microwaves, steam kettles, broilers, ovens, flattops, steam tables, plates and bowls, slippery floors, and high temperatures. Must be physically capable of standing and walking for 10–12 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in hot environments. Must have weekend and holiday availability.
