We are currently seeking a Pentaho / Apache Hop to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data integration workflows using Apache Hop (Hop pipelines and jobs).
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, files, etc.) and load into target systems.
• Optimize and troubleshoot existing Hop workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Integrate Apache Hop with external systems such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, or cloud storage (AWS S3, GCS, Azure Blob).
• Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring for Hop / Pentaho jobs and pipelines.
• Manage version control of Apache Hop / Pentaho projects using Git or similar tools.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of ETL processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Hop or similar ETL tools (Pentaho Data Integration, Talend, Informatica, etc.).
• Strong SQL skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle).
• Experience in using Metadata Injection in Apache Hop / Pentaho
• Experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, or cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or Groovy).
• Understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and workflow automation.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
