Job Title RN (Registered Nurse) – ICU / MICU Location Peoria, IL | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday for night shift) Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing complex diagnoses including sepsis, ARDS, pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, and overdose Interpret EKG strips and monitor telemetry using Philips monitors; nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting their own strips Manage and titrate a wide variety of vasoactive and cardioactive drips per physician-outlined parameters Provide advanced care for ventilated patients, including management of arterial lines and central lines, as well as troubleshooting RT equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow) Float to lower levels of care as needed (stepdown: 3 patients; general med: 4 patients); travelers float first Maintain compliance with a drug-free campus policy; a negative drug screen for all panels is required Required Qualifications Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated) BLS certification required ACLS certification required Proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, and care of the ventilated patient Demonstrated ability to interpret EKG strips and titrate vasopressors and cardioactive medications Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard contract rate; candidates within 50 miles are subject to a local rate adjustment Preferred Experience / Skills Prior MICU or ICU experience with high-acuity patient populations Familiarity with Epic EMR Experience managing COVID-positive ICU patients Why Join Us Structured orientation program including Epic training, educator sessions, shadowing, and precepted shifts to support a smooth transition to the unit 24/7 house supervisor coverage and intensivist support (in-house and via telemedicine) provide a strong clinical support structure throughout every shift Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 789292.
