Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Summary: The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized critical care to patients in the intensive care unit, delivering comprehensive nursing services through the application of advanced clinical skills and evidence-based practices. The role includes coordinating patient care, monitoring vital signs, and supporting patient recovery within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical standards and patient needs.
• Implement nursing interventions and procedures, continually evaluating and adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care activities to ensure effective communication within the healthcare team.
• Monitor and interpret electronic displays from medical equipment, including cardiac rhythms, intracranial pressures, and respiratory data.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring equipment readiness and patient safety.
• Respond swiftly to life-threatening emergencies in accordance with established protocols and standards.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience, with a focus on critical care preferred.
• Hold an active Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Exhibit strong clinical skills in ventilator management, patient assessment, and rapid response to emergencies.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork capabilities necessary for ICU settings.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and adherence to healthcare regulations.
