RN - First Assist (RNFA) - Operating Room

Schedule:
• Full-Time: 80 hours per pay period
• Hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Call Schedule: 1 day/week and 1 weekend/month ($4.00/hour while on call)
• Call Back: Minimum of 2 hours of pay when called in at time & one half
• Shift Differential: (pay is based on the majority of hours worked)

o Evening Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) = 8%

o Night Shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) = 11%
• No Weekend Differential

Responsibilities:
• Surgical Assistance: Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures, acting as the first assistant in the operating room.
• Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative period, including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative support, and post-operative monitoring.
• Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in surgical techniques, instrumentation, and aseptic practices.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, pre- and post-operative care, and potential risks and complications.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and surgical procedures.

Qualifications:
• Education: Associate's degree in Nursing.
• Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Idaho or eligibility for licensure.
• Certification:

o Proof of completion of an RNFA course.

o Current BLS certification.

o PALS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Experience: 3 years of Perioperative RN experience.
• Other: Must meet requirements to obtain allied health privileges through medical staff credentialing.
