Job Title: Registered Nurse II - MedSurg/Tele Float Pool Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current Registered Nurse license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: Level 1 trauma experience Description: This position requires experience in a MedSurg and Telemetry environment. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele experience. Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred. Familiarity with the complexities and acuity of the patient population is essential. Travelers will be floated between various units and should be adaptable. Travelers must understand that they will not have the opportunity to refuse floating assignments. The float pool supports multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units with varying patient ratios. The role may include floating to additional units as required. Weekend shifts will be required, with a commitment of 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks. Holidays will be required based on the needs of the unit. Shifts will typically follow a schedule from 7 AM to 7:30 PM or from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Shifts are scheduled 4 weeks in advance, with potential changes based on hospital needs. There is no call requirement. In the event of low census, a response time of 30 minutes to standby will be expected. All reports are completed at the bedside. A quality 2-person skin assessment must be completed within the first 4 hours of the shift. Candidates must pass a basic dysrhythmia exam within 2 attempts. A passing score of 80% is required. Failure to pass will result in a 6-month do not use status within the specified regions. All travelers should exhibit proficiency in maintaining a sterile field, as the ability to do so is critical to this role.
