Communications Specialist

Overview Communications Specialist. Reports to: Editor. Full-time, Non-exempt. The Catholic Week, the official publication of the Archdiocese of Mobile, supports the evangelization efforts of the Archdiocese through a biweekly newspaper, e-newsletter and digital media outreach. The Communications Specialist assists with advertising coordination for The Catholic Week and supports the archdiocese's social and digital communications through photography, video and multimedia content creation. This is an hourly, nonexempt position with benefits. Responsibilities Coordinate social and digital media efforts. Organize and produce The Catholic Week Digest, the online newsletter of The Catholic Week. Create content through photography and videography of diocesan liturgies and events; shoot and edit photo and video content for digital platforms. Plan and produce multimedia content, including interviews and reflections. Collaborate with current advertisers regarding ad placement and communication; coordinate advertising scheduling, billing and invoicing. Maintain the subscription database. Work closely with The Catholic Week editor on advertising development and newspaper proofreading. Assist in designing advertisements using Adobe Creative Suite programs and Canva, including InDesign and Photoshop. Develop and maintain media kits for current and prospective advertisers. Complete other duties as assigned by the Editor of The Catholic Week. Qualifications Practicing Catholic who is passionate about the Faith and faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church. Successful completion of Safe Environment Training and a background check. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Canva; video editing experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and copyediting skills. Must have a reliable vehicle and meet archdiocesan insurance requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr
