Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.Why join usWe believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Additional requirements include:Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Valid Michigan driver's licenseBasic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)Trauma Course (ITLS or PHTLS) (Preferred)Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) (Preferred)Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), VFIS Driver Training, or equivalent (preferred)6 months field experience in EMS (Preferred)More about Marquette General HospitalAs a 222-bed specialty care hospital, UP Health System – Marquette receives patients from across the UP and provides care in 65 specialties and subspecialties.
