Maintenance Mechanic II - Mold Shop

Job Description Primary Purpose This position is responsible for setting up molds and cycling them to specifications, maintaining operations safely and efficiently, and ensuring acceptable quality and production requirements are met. Responsibilities Abide by All Amcor’s safety and quality policies and procedures. Be thoroughly familiar with hand tools and maintenance practices. Set up molds and cycle them according to specifications. Understand different materials, mixing processes, automatic color blenders, and cycle requirements. Explain why various materials require specific cycles. Identify and distinguish defects and dimensional issues. Understand hydraulic and electrical systems of machines. Troubleshoot minor problems and make necessary adjustments to bring machines into specification. Properly shut down and start up machines. Train and assist other technicians. Maintain good housekeeping in the work area. Assist other job classifications and perform assigned work. Assist in training maintenance, production, and other personnel in areas of expertise. Follow GMP and GDP protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Post‑secondary technical or vocational education preferred. Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Strong mathematical ability and proficiency with numbers. Proficient hand‑eye coordination to operate equipment. Ability to make visual and mental priority decisions and exercise independent judgment. Computer proficiency with related software. Ability to work all shifts and required overtime. Must own general mechanics tools per Amcor’s Basic Tool Requirement List. Physical Requirements Stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods. Lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Lift, bend, and twist repeatedly during the shift. Coordinate movements quickly and accurately in a high‑output production area. Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑quality manufacturing environment. Follow all established safety rules and guidelines. Pay The current entry pay is approximately $29.60 per hour, with range determined by experience, qualifications, and other business factors.
