Job Profile Summary Offering a $15,000 sign on bonus for new external hires Schedule: Monday - Friday Hours: Mid-shift (12:00pm - 8:30pm) and Evenings (3:30pm - 12:00am) This role focuses on using various imaging techniques and practices to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. It also involves performing Ultrasound duties such as utilizing ultrasound technology to provide images of internal body structures. The position is a clinical technologist role that requires specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, and experience. Job Overview Performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound exams and special diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of the physician and/or radiologist using high frequency sound waves to investigate the internal aspects of the human body. Requires a high degree of technical knowledge pertaining to acoustics, anatomy, and physiology, allowing the technologist to evaluate laboratory data, past medical history, and pertinent symptoms to tailor each ultrasound examination safely, accurately, and timely. Job Description Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree or two‑year certificate program in Ultrasound. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) within one year of hire. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of work experience as an ultrasound technologist. Duties and Responsibilities Sets up and operates equipment, manipulating transducers and adjusting console dials to obtain a clear recording of specified body sections. Records each examination. Assists radiologists in interpretation by describing anatomy, anatomical locations, and acoustic characteristics of each film. Compares previous ultrasound to current exam, writes up case and findings on technologist sheets, compiles everything, and prepares it for the radiologist to be dictated. Assists physicians and/or radiologists with special procedures including biopsies, breast localization, amniocentesis, aspirations, paracentesis, thoracentesis, hysterosonograms, and other procedures requiring ultrasound guidance. Informs supervisor of equipment problems and safety issues. Covers a minimum of call as per policy, arriving at the hospital as soon as possible (within one hour). Covers a minimum of hospital recognized holiday shifts as per policy. Performs all related department duties as required. Works independently, performing a variety of procedures and/or exams requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Provides the highest level of service to all customer groups, exhibiting excellent customer‑relation skills to patients, visitors, physicians, and co‑workers. Educates each patient in a professional manner about the exam expectations and timeline. Remains completely unbiased regarding race, color, creed, citizenship, sexual preference, economic status, disabilities, appearance, or age. Responds to change and/or shifts in the work schedule calmly and appropriately, cooperating with co‑workers and management to maintain a high quality patient care atmosphere. Actively participates in department quality improvement/assurance, assuming responsibility for designated areas and/or procedures as required and maintaining department supplies. Attends mandatory meetings. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, occasional sitting and walking, lifting 30–35 lbs., pushing and maneuvering equipment. Manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate echo equipment and computer keyboard. Ability to see echo screen and reports. Skills & Abilities Medical terminology. Clerical skills. Proficient in OB/GYN, small parts, venous, carotid, abdominal ultrasounds, and procedures requiring ultrasound guidance (e.g., biopsies, amniocentesis, aspirations, paracentesis, thoracentesis, hysterosonograms, etc.).
