The Investment Decision Support Team For VRS (Virginia Retirement Systems) Is Seeking An Experienced Business Systems Analyst Who Will Actively Support Current-state Analysis And The Implementation Of New Investment Data Platform Through The Following Partner with investment stakeholders to document current-state processes, systems, and data flows, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Conduct interviews and working sessions to capture business needs and translate them into clear requirements for the new data platform. Elicit, document, and manage business and technical requirements to support platform design and implementation. Support the definition of future-state workflows and operating models aligned with the new investment data platform. Develop a strong understanding of existing investment and data architecture, including integration points and dependencies. Create and maintain detailed documentation including current-state assessments, future-state designs, and data-flow diagrams. Assist with data mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities during platform implementation. Develop and execute testing strategies, including user acceptance testing to ensure successful delivery of platform capabilities. Support change management and transition activities to ensure adoption of new processes and systems. Provide ongoing support through data analysis, reporting, and process refinement as the platform is implemented and stabilized. Contributed to special projects and strategic initiatives as directed by the IDS Research Director. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university 7+ years of experience in gathering and documenting requirements, improving business and technical processes, and creating and implementing testing plans. Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail to help solve problems and make decisions. Experience in writing technical documentation (requirements, process maps, etc.) Excellent communicator and able to produce clear and concise documentation Demonstrated working in a team environment Additional Preferred Skills Experience using programming languages such as SQL or Python. Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau or Power BI. Experience with robotic process automation tools such as Power Automate Investment/financial market industry experience. Location: 901 E.
