Caregiver/Direct Support Professional - Shelby, NC and Surrounding Areas Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver – Shelby, NC and Surrounding Areas Direct Support Professional (DSP) – $15.00-17.00/hr + $1,000 Signing Bonus –Shelby, NC and Surrounding Areas Flexible Schedules | Weekly Pay | Paid Training | Growth Opportunities | Team Environment Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). As a DSP, you will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently. What You’ll Do As a DSP, you will provide hands-on support that helps individuals build independence and confidence. Being a DSP is a rewarding experience – you will genuinely make a difference in somebody’s life. Responsibilities will include: Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed Complete documentation and maintaining schedules Complete ongoing training and professional development Flexible schedules (full-time and part-time opportunities) Weekly pay Bonus opportunities (e.g., referral bonus) Paid onboarding & training Opportunities for advancement & career growth Invitations to company events & opportunities to socialize with peer DSPs Medical, dental, life insurance and 401(k) eligibility based on hours worked Requirements Must be 18 years or older Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation. Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary Lifting may be required, depending on client needs Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required – we provide paid training and support Pay & Signing Bonus Starting Pay: $-/hour $1,000 signing bonus paid in 3 installments when averaging 20+ hours/week Abound Health is an equal opportunity employer.
