FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC - FULL TIME
The Town of Belchertown is accepting applications to fill a full - time Firefighter/Paramedic or Firefighter/EMT-Basic to respond to fire alarms and to assist in combating and extinguishing fires, and/or to perform Advanced Life Support in addition to other emergency medical assistance as required. Students currently enrolled in a Paramedic Certification program will be considered. The annual pay range for Firefighter/Paramedic is $70,412-$89,959 and for Firefighter/Basic is $58,837-$75,064 based on an average 42 hours per week working 24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on and 5 days off.
Applicants must possess a valid Massachusetts driver's license, EMT Paramedic certification, Firefighter I and II certification or have the ability to complete the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Recruit Training program upon hire and CPR certification. Firefighter EMT Basic would be considered. Candidates for EMT Basic would be required to complete Massachusetts Paramedic program within 2 years of hiring. Must not use tobacco products. Successful candidates must pass the Commonwealth of Massachusetts firefighting physical abilities test (PAT) prior to work start date. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
