Location: King of Prussia / Philadelphia, PA

Pay: $20–$45/hour, based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, starting at 7:30 AM; end time varies based on service demand

Ace Hardware Home Services is seeking experienced Residential HVAC Service Technicians to join our growing team serving the King of Prussia and Philadelphia markets.

This role is best suited for technicians with at least 3 years of hands-on HVAC service experience who are comfortable independently diagnosing and repairing residential heating and cooling systems.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC systems
• Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, heating, and heat pump issues
• Independently complete residential service calls from diagnosis through repair
• Explain system issues, repair recommendations, and available options clearly to homeowners
• Document service calls, notes, and invoicing through mobile dispatch software
• Complete work safely, accurately, and according to manufacturer guidelines and applicable codes
• Provide a professional customer experience on every service call
• Assist or mentor less-experienced technicians and apprentices when needed

Technical Experience We're Looking For

Qualified candidates should have experience with:

• Troubleshooting complex electrical faults, variable-speed motors, and control boards
• Diagnosing TXV restrictions, compressor failures, refrigerant leaks, and other refrigeration issues
• Servicing gas furnaces, testing gas valves, and performing combustion analysis
• Troubleshooting heat pump defrost cycles and auxiliary heat staging
• Independently replacing compressors, reversing valves, coils, and other major components
• Using mobile field-service or dispatch software such as ServiceTitan for service notes and invoicing

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of HVAC service experience
• Strong residential HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic experience
• EPA Universal Certification
• Ability to independently diagnose and complete HVAC repairs
• Strong customer communication skills
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high service and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential HVAC service experience
• Strong diagnostic-focused field-service background
• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field-service software
• Knowledge of local building codes and HVAC industry best practices
• Experience mentoring or assisting junior technicians
