ABOUT US:Palos Verdes Golf Club is a private club located in the middle of an 800-acre parkland preserve overlooking Santa Monica Bay with ocean views visible from several holes. Established in 1924, the golf course has long been referred to as "a hidden gem" and the clubhouse is a designated historical building by the Palos Verdes Historical Society. BENEFITS:Paid Sick Leave401k with Club matchEmployee discountsOpportunity to apply for the Club's Scholarship ProgramGreat location and great people!ESSENTIAL DUTITES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Report to work and clock in/out for scheduled shifts and required breaks on time and within PVGC golf department dress code requirementsMaintain personal grooming in compliance with Club appearance standardsApproach all interaction with Members, guests, and colleagues in a courteous, service-oriented mannerRemain attentive, friendly, helpful, courteous, and respectful to Members, guests, managers and fellow employees at all timesGreet Members and guests arriving at bag drop within 30 seconds Provide each Member and guest arriving with personal attention and ensure that their clubs are handled properly; address Members and guests by nameStage golf carts awaiting play and ensure that carts are properly equipped with scorecard, pencil, and full sand bottleLoad golf bags onto cart at request of Member or guestUnload golf bags from cart upon completion of Member or guest round Clean golf clubs after use and store in proper locationEnsure proper storage of golf bags in bag room Replace water buckets and club cleaners with fresh water as neededClean spike cleaners dailyRe-grip golf clubs as requested by Members or guestsPick driving drive. Clean golf balls and ensure basked are filled properly. Perform opening and closing duties of operating the bag room and outside service area at the start and end of each shiftMaintain a clean and orderly bag room and outside services area at all timesAssist golf shop with any other duties as requested; assist pro shop staff during tournamentsEnsure all Members and guests have a pleasant golfing experienceQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:Dynamic outgoing personality; articulate, friendly, punctual, and proactiveHigh level of client services, professionalism, and attention to detail; professional appearance appropriate for a premier country clubProblem solving, reasoning, and "thinking out of the box"; ability to apply common sense understanding to better serve our internal and external guests' needsAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and holidaysEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: High school diploma preferredMinimum one year related experience preferredBasic knowledge of golf course operations
